Please discuss any concerns about safety in the Space Research Building with your supervisor or Principal Investigator, or a member of the AOSS Safety Committee.
Safety Training
Federal law requires that all employees who work in or enter laboratory rooms receive basic safety training. Students attending classes, who are not employees, are exempt from this requirement. Also, if you only work in an office, or computer "lab" and never enter other labs or the loading dock or machine shop, you are not required to attend the safety training. This Comprehensive Lab Safety Training is provided by UM OSEH.

Accidents and Injuries
In case of an accident or injury, there is required reporting. For additional information and to review the reporting procedures, visit https://www.engin.umich.edu/safety/emerg/procedures.html. In addition, AOSS Human Resources (Sue Griffin at susangri@umich.edu) must receive a copy of the medical form and the AOSS Safety Committee must receive a copy of the incident report.
